Serum No. 5 - Fallen

Serum No. 5... What can I say?  Reading blogs day in and day out, there were some great reviews on Serum No. 5.  AND I kept thinking to myself, I need that in my life.  Last week, Serum No. 5 by Victoria Dao, was finally going to be restocked at the Etsy shop!  I had checked the shop a few times, but couldn't quite decide on which ones I wanted to pick up.  I waited for her restock and that's when I finally picked up all the ones that I had been eye-ing.
Fallen is reddish/copper shimmery base.  It is such a beautiful color, hard for me to describe... This  base is filled with hex glitters in various sizes.  The glitter colors Victoria chose for this particular suspension was dead on.  The glitters in it are gold, orange, red... which also remind me so much of leaves on trees in the fall.
Having purchased Serum No. 5 was one of the best decisions I've ever made.  I love all of the mixes that Victoria creates!  I have swatched all of the polishes that I got from her Etsy shop on a nail wheel and they're just perfect.

I went ahead and used China Glaze, Desert Sun as a base for this.  Even though its from the Safari Collection,  it is the perfect color this time of season.  Once I applied it to my nails, it reminded me so much of the caramel on caramel apples <3

Fallen, by Serum No. 5 was very easy to work with.  The suspension was the perfect consistency.  On this particular mani, I only used 1 coat.  It is very possible to use this color on its own, but I would recommend using 3 coats for it to be opaque.  Dry time is also reasonable, I waited about 2 minutes and before apply a top coat, it was completely dry.

Now go and check out her polish line that is available on her [etsy] shop... And I will just let these photos do the rest of the talking.  :)

Make Up Your Face - Teal Love = Real Love

Teal love = Real love is a clear suspension made up different size teal & turquoise hex shapes, teal diamond shapes and also packed in are some holo hex shapes.
(in direct sunlight)
Consistency: This one was just perfect! 1 dip of this nail polish contained a little too much glitter... I had to eliminate some off the brush. Either way I love it <3

Coats
: 2 Coats. I love nail polishes packed with glitter & I like my nails that way also ;)

Dry Time
: Glitter polishes tend to dry rather quickly.  Like other Make Up Your Face polishes (by Lauren) this one dries rather quickly.  I waited 40-50 seconds before applying a 2nd coat.  Perfect for the impatient... :)

End Result
: Like most chunky glitter nail polishes, the end result of this glitter polish was rough/bumpy.  I used 1 coat of Seche Vite to even it out, which was enough to smooth it out.

Overall Thoughts?  As with any nail polish, make sure to roll the nail polish between your hands... it is the best way to get all of the glitters to get mixed in thoroughly with the rest of the suspension.  I really appreciate the fact that none of the glitters in this polish curled or wanted to pop off.  I enjoy this particular mix of glitters over a pink, orange or some other bright base color.  Lauren creates some truly amazing glitter polishes, she even makes eyeshadows, glitters, lipgloss, and nail polish jewelry!  You can find her products on her MakeUpYourFace [etsy] shop! And having bought multiple items from her, as a consumer I can honestly recommend her as a great seller!  Don't see exactly the sizes or polish options you're looking for?  Just contact her via etsy, facebook or email and she will be glad to send you an invoice for the specific items you want to purchase.  She knows how to do business ;)

Mani details
: Sally Hansen Complete Care 4-in-1, Sonia Kashuk - Tango Mango (1 coat), MakeUpYourFace - Teal Love = Real Love (2 coats), Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat (1 coat)

Till next time... >.~

Make Up Your Face - Pastel Lover's Paradise & Hello Kitty - Bubble Gum

Make Up Your Face - Pastel Lover's Paradise
Pastel Lover's Paradise - A clear suspension packed with millions (can i say that?) of pastel pink, green, blue hex glitters along with random slivers of silver glitter.  Handmade (Indie polish) with love <3
Consistency:  It is actually a kinda-thick suspension, but it has so much glitter packed into it... What do you expect?  I love it!  When I first tried it on my nail wheel, the amount of glitter on the brush was insane (good insane)!  Unlike some other glitter polishes I've tried... you know the kind where you need to keep dipping the brush to get some good amount of glitter.  While, dabbing is not necessary, I personally am picky on the coverage, so I like to place them in specific areas of the nail.

Dry Time: This dry time was very fast 1st coat. - I polished one hand (pinky to thumb), by the time I finished the thumb, the pinky was already dry and ready for 2nd coat!  Dry time was 45-60 seconds.  P.S. Don't do this mani in front of a fan... I guess I was NOT thinking! :/

Coats: This mani was 2 coats of [PLP]... 1 coat already gives you a good amount of glitter coverage, but 2 coats gives you even more <3<3<3
End Result:  Like alot of other glitter polishes, it had a rough surface, but be sure to top it off something like seche vite.  A matte top coat, may be used.  To prevent the glitter feeling so rough (or lifting) I recommend using just one coat of [PLP].
Overall Thoughts?  I own so many Indie (hand<3made) polishes... 90% of them are part of my untrieds :/ but this one, as soon as I pulled out that brush... had won me over.  You can tell by just looking at the bottle, how mad crazy the glitter is packed, which I love! Pastel is good, but it gives me a Spring feel... like I should be hunting for easter eggs. Not a bad thing, but Spring is far far from here.  Make Up Your Face Products, can be found on her [Etsy] shop!

Hello Kitty - Bubble Gum
My Boyfriend<3 bought me the Hello Kitty Nail Polish collection... This was one of the 11 that came in the set. I know most people probably think, hello kitty?  Thats little kids play nail polish, ha.  This is actually from the Sephora Hello Kitty Collection, so I expect good things!  I really don't use too many light (almost) white colored polisheds.  I don't generally like how light colors look with my skin complexion.  I used this one to prepare it specifically for what was to come after... [^PLP].
Consistency:  A very thin lacquer.  Oddly, once you start working with it... the more brush strokes you make it gets thicker...so work quick!

Dry Time:  This polish, dries in a matter of seconds.  I had to work very fast to cover my nail... If you take too long, the nail polish starts to dry and creates a streaking mess!

Coats:  I used 2 coats for this mani, which was completely opaque by that time.

End Result:  At this point, this mani did not turn out a smootly as I had hoped.  By the time I was finished, the nail polish looked too streaky and the 2nd coat looked a little lumpy because of the dry time.  I may have not worked fast enough, but I did top it off with Seche Vite (1 coat) and it looked much much better :)
Overall Thoughts?  How can I NOT love this polish?  I love EVERYTHING Hello Kitty, so of course exceptions will be made <3 This polish is not bad, but like I said... to get some great results you have to work rather quickly.  If you are interested in purchasing any of the Hello Kitty nail polishes, you can find them at Sephora store or at [sephora.com]

Mani details:  Sally Hansen: Complete Care 4-in1 Treatment (base), Hello Kitty: Bubble Gum (2 coats), Seche Vite (1 coat), Make Up Your Face - Pastel Lover's Paradise [Indie], Seche Vite (2 coats)

Thanks you for reading, I will have another post and swatch within the next couple of days :)  & If you haven't yet, please follow my blog :)  I really appreciate it!
